PUBLIC COMPUTERS

 

Computers are available for use at the library. Computer use is free for all library cardholders who are residents or property owners in the McCook Public Library District.

Guidelines for computer use:

  • You must sign in with the front desk to reserve computer time.

  • Library Staff are available for basic introductory-level assistance.

  • Appropriate behavior and computer etiquette are expected of users at all times. Examples of unacceptable actions include:

    • Changing computer configurations, re-booting, attempts to compromise network security; or other hacking-type activities

    • Damage to computer equipment

    • Not paying for printed copies

    • Illegal activities

What types of Microsoft Office applications are available on Library computers?
The Library's internet computer stations have the following Microsoft Office applications: Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, and Word.

 

Library computers and printers shut down 15 minutes before the library closes.


 

Printing Fees:

  • 10¢ for Black and White
  • 25¢ for Color

Copy Fees:
Copies made using our Xerox machine

  • 10¢ per single-sided copy
  • 50¢ per double-sided copy.

Faxing Fees:

  • $1 outgoing to U.S. area codes
  • $3 outgoing to International codes
  • $1 incoming from anywhere

If my card is delinquent, can I still use the wireless network?
Yes. Wireless access is available to all visitors during the Library's regular hours of operation.  Select "Library Guest" as your wireless network to gain access.

 

How much do you charge to use your wireless network?

How long does my connection last while I’m in one of your libraries?

Can I bring my laptop to access the library’s wi-fi?
